To request a new host genome in IDseq please email email@example.com with the name of the host and the corresponding fasta or fastq files. You can either attach your own files or link to them in NCBI.
The host organism metadata field in IDseq refers to the organism from which you collected your metagenomic sample. If the host organism matches a host genome we have in IDseq, reads in your sample that align to that genome will be removed during the pipeline. Regardless of your choice of host, the pipeline will always remove ERCCs (synthetic RNA spike-ins) and reads aligning to the Human genome.
IDseq is constantly adding new hosts that you can use for your analysis. You can view available hosts by navigating to our metadata dictionary and selecting the dropdown menu in the top left of the screen.
