Overview
You can share projects, sample reports, and visualizations with collaborators. Collaborators will be able to easily access sample data and analysis tools. Here we describe how to share data from your CZ ID account.
Sharing Projects with Collaborators
You can share public and private private projects within CZ ID. When you share a project with collaborators, they will become project members. See notes regarding member access to data and analysis features.
Steps to Share a Project
1) Go to the Project page of interest.
2) Click the "Share" button on the upper right-hand side of the page.
3) A modal will appear where you can enter the collaborator email. Click "Send Invite" after filling in the email information.
4) You will see a confirmation that an invitation to the project has been sent. The new email address will be listed with other project members.
5) Collaborators will receive a confirmation email from the CZ ID Team indicating "You have been added to a project on CZ ID". If a collaborator does not have a CZ ID account, the email will direct them to create an account.
6) Keep track of the number of project members on the Project page.
Project Members
Note that all project members will have access to all the data and analysis features within the project. Therefore, project members will be able to:
- See all the data and reports within the project.
- Perform analysis within CZ ID using samples listed in the project.
- Upload samples to the project.
- Edit metadata for existing samples.
- Download data and reports.
- Collaborators will NOT be able to download raw sequence files. Only the user that uploaded data to the platform will be able to download raw sequencing files.
- Share the project with other collaborators.
- Change the privacy status of the project.
Sharing Projects with All CZ ID Users
You can change the privacy status of your project to Public to share your project with all CZ ID users. Note that you can change the privacy status of your project from Private to Public at any time. However, you cannot do the opposite. See notes regarding public projects.
Steps to Change Privacy Status to Public
1) Go to the Project page of interest.
2) Click the "Share" button on the upper right-hand side of the page.
3) A modal will appear where you can change the privacy status.
4) A second modal will appear for you to confirm that you want to make the project Public within CZ ID. Click the "Make Project Public" button to change the privacy status. You cannot undo this action. If you or your collaborators make a project Public by mistake, please contact our team immediately by sending an email to help@czid.org.
Public Projects
Once you share your project publicly within CZ ID, users will be able to:
- See all the data and reports within the project.
- See new samples that you or collaborators upload to the project.
- Perform analysis within CZ ID using samples listed in the project.
- Download data and reports.
- Users will NOT be able to download raw sequence files. Only the user that uploaded data to the platform will be able to download raw sequencing files.
- Share reports for samples within the project.
Sharing Reports
You can easily share specific sample reports with CZ ID users. You can do this by copying and sharing the URL to the report. Note the following when sharing reports:
- Anyone with a CZ ID account can view sample reports that come from public projects.
- Only project members can view sample reports from private projects.
- Sharing the URL will enable collaborators to quickly explore results of interest and access all the features available through the Sample Report page, including downloading data and reports. However, they will NOT be able to download raw sequencing files.
- Sharing the URL with CZ ID staff will enable our team to quickly find and resolve issues when requesting assistance through help@czid.org.
Steps to Copy and Share Report URL
1) Go to the sample report you want to share.
2) Click the "Share" button on the upper right-hand side of the page. The share button will be in the same location for mNGS, AMR, and viral consensus genome reports.
3) You will see a message confirming that the URL was copied.
4) Share link.
Sharing Visualizations
You can share heatmaps and phylogenetic trees from your CZ ID account. You can do this by copying and sharing a URL to the Visualization page. Note the following when sharing visualizations:
- Anyone with a CZ ID account can view visualizations created with samples from public projects.
- Only project members can view visualizations created with samples from private projects.
- Once you share the URL, collaborators will be able to quickly explore results and access features available through the Visualization page, including visualization data and image file downloads.
Steps to Copy and Share Visualization URL
